NPHIC is governed by a thirteen member board, with representatives from all ten NPHIC regions and three At- large members. 
Regional representative members of the board are elected by the voting members from the states and territories in the region. At-large members are elected by a vote of the general membership.  Board members serve a three-year term that begins January 1 following their election.
