Multistate E. coli Outbreak Connected to Walnuts

The CDC has issued a warning about an E. coli outbreak tied to organic walnuts sold in bulk, affecting 12 people in California and Washington. Seven have been hospitalized, two with kidney disease. No deaths have been reported.

Gibson Farms Inc. has recalled the product sold in 19 states, primarily in food co-ops and stores like Whole Foods. The FDA released a list of potentially affected stores.
