NPHIC Involved in Study: Trust in Public Health Agencies During COVID-19

Health Affairs began publishing a cluster of research papers focused on lessons for public health policy and practice arising from the COVID-19 pandemic experience in the U.S. The first article was released earlier this week and is titled, “Trust In U.S. Federal, State, And Local Public Health Agencies During COVID-19: Responses And Policy Implications.” The study describes how in February 2022 a first-of-its-kind nationally representative survey of 4,208 U.S. adults was conducted to learn the public’s reported reasons for trust in federal, state, and local public health agencies. Data used in this study came from a cross-sectional, nationally representative, online and telephone survey. The survey was designed and analyzed by researchers at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health in collaboration with staff at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials and the National Public Health Information Coalition (NPHIC).
