
Walensky’s Advice to Next CDC Director: ‘Keep Your Head Down’
Rochelle Walensky, the outgoing director of the CDC, advised her soon-to-be successor Mandy Cohen to “keep your head down” as she prepares to assume the new role next month. “My advice to her would be to sort of keep your head down and recognize that the science has to be the foundation of what we deliver in health,” Walensky said. “Health does not happen in a vacuum. We have to consider at a policy level all of these other things that are happening.” Walensky will be stepping down as CDC director at the end of June.
