With new COVID-19 variants EG.5.1 and BA.2.86 making it's clear that COVID testing is going to be with us for a while. Yet the expiration of the national public health emergency has ended many of the ways in which Americans accessed free COVID tests.

However, if you need or want to test for free, you still have a few options. There are three main avenues to find free COVID-19 testing locations across the US: HRSA health centers, Test to Treat locations and ICATT testing sites.
