Groundbreaking Impact: Stories of Data Modernization in the Field

Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) Stories from the Field is an exciting multimedia initiative that highlights the commendable efforts of state, tribal, local, and territorial (STLT) health departments, along with the members of the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) and their teams. This project showcases how these entities effectively utilized funding and principles from the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) by CDC’s Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance, and Technology (OPHDST).

Hosted at stories.CSTE.org, the project features nearly 180 narratives from various jurisdictions, illustrating their progress in improving public health through innovative use of data during the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The showcased accomplishments demonstrate resilience and innovation in the face of adversity, contributing to the nationwide improvement of public health and readiness for future threats.
