CDC Launches ‘Conflicts of Interest’ Page About Vaccine Advisory Panel

The CDC has launched a new webpage listing conflicts of interest reported by members of its Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), providing transparency about potential biases among experts advising on vaccines. The page includes conflicts declared by both current and former ACIP members since 2000, with nearly 200 items disclosed.

While some, like Yvonne Maldonado, clarify that certain roles do not constitute conflicts, others, such as Paul Offit, argue this information has always been publicly available. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. praised the move as a step toward “radical transparency,” but critics warn it may distract from urgent public health issues like measles outbreaks. Read more from The Hill here.
