THC Vapes are Banned from Texas Retailers

Effective September 1, Texas has banned the sale of THC-laced disposable vapes in retail outlets, including smoke shops and gas stations, under Senate Bill 2024. The law targets products containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component in cannabis, and also restricts vapes with parts manufactured in certain foreign countries. Retailers face substantial fines for noncompliance, though possession of low-dose hemp-derived THC products remains legal.

Non-vape hemp products such as gummies, drinks, and smokeable flowers remain available. Lawmakers continue debating broader regulations for intoxicating hemp products, including age restrictions, manufacturing standards, and sales limitations, highlighting ongoing public health concerns around youth access and product safety.
