New CDC Guide Supports Public Health Risk Communication
Effectively communicating about public health risks is increasingly challenging in today’s fast-moving information environment, particularly when science is still evolving. To support communicators, the CDC has launched the Public Health Risk Communication (PHRC) Guide and a companion 90-minute training designed specifically for public health professionals.
The guide provides practical, evidence-based strategies for conveying emerging and ongoing risks that do not require a full crisis response. Its development drew on the latest communication science, key risk communication principles, and insights from local, state, and national public health experts. This resource equips communicators with tools to deliver clear, trustworthy messages in complex situations. Find the guide from the CDC here.
