Unlocking the economic potential of closing the gender health gap could contribute over $1tn annually to the global economy by 2040, as revealed in a groundbreaking report by the World Economic Forum and the McKinsey Health Institute. Investing just $1 in women's health could yield a remarkable $3 for the economy, enhancing quality of life and enabling greater female participation in the workforce.
The impact could translate into an additional seven healthy days per year for every woman, totaling more than 500 days over a lifetime. The research, presented in Davos, underscores that women, on average, experience poor health for 25% longer than men, a gap that could be reduced significantly by nearly two-thirds through concerted efforts.
